ATENETO Lab

Open questions.
Careful inquiry.

A developing space for research, critical dialogue and knowledge exchange within the Cognitive Capital framework.

Research directions

Three connected fields of inquiry.

We are beginning modestly. These themes describe questions we want to investigate, not established research programmes, published findings or proven capabilities.

01 / HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

How do people grow?

We explore attention, learning, self-awareness, psychological development and human flourishing. What helps people exercise agency and judgment amid rapid technological change?

02 / HUMAN–AI CO-EVOLUTION

How can we develop together?

How do intelligent tools change human learning, work and cooperation? Which forms of collaboration expand capability while preserving autonomy and responsibility?

03 / FRONTIERS OF CONSCIOUSNESS

What remains open?

We welcome careful inquiry into consciousness, unusual experiences and hypotheses beyond current explanatory models. Openness to a question does not establish the truth of a claim.

Openness and rigour belong together.

Unexpected observations can motivate inquiry. A responsible approach makes methods, evidence and uncertainty visible, and invites critical evaluation.

EVIDENCE

Established knowledge

Findings supported by reproducible scientific evidence. Contributions should identify sources, methods, limitations and the scope of what the evidence supports.

INQUIRY

Research questions

Questions with an outcome that remains open. We welcome clear definitions, feasible methods and ideas that could distinguish between competing explanations.

EXPLORATION

Hypotheses

Ideas that are not scientifically established. Claims about nonlocal consciousness or other unverified phenomena are treated as hypotheses, not as facts or available technologies.

Questions worth investigating

Start with a precise question.

  • How can AI support learning and reflection without reducing independent judgment?
  • What makes collaboration between people and intelligent systems genuinely useful?
  • How can we distinguish a reported experience from an explanation of that experience?
  • What methods can test unusual claims while accounting for bias, alternative explanations and reproducibility?
  • Which human capacities support peaceful, responsible cooperation with increasingly capable intelligence?
